A heavy heart – and a sincere thank you

There are moments in life when you look for words – and can’t find any that are big enough. This post is one of those moments for me.
I’m sitting here and don’t quite know how to start. So I’ll just start with the truth.
What Ultralooner meant to me
Ultralooner was never just a shop.
It was my passion project. It was the place where I put my passion, my time, my energy and yes – also a lot of money – into something that was truly close to my heart. Every order, every product selection, every small decision behind the scenes was infused with real heart and soul. I wanted to create something special. A place where people like us feel understood, seen, and welcome.
I spent countless hours building Ultralooner. Nights when I couldn’t sleep because a new idea came to me. Days when I worked on new products full of joy. Moments when a message from you – a customer, a member of this community – saved my whole day.
All of that was real. Every single minute of it.
What I have to tell you
Unfortunately, I have to confront you today with news that breaks my heart.
As you may have already noticed, I can hardly keep up with answering your DMs, and things have also become a bit quieter on my own account. For health reasons – which I cannot go into further for personal reasons – I am no longer able to continue Ultralooner in the way this project deserves. This is a reality that has only recently caught up with me – and one that I am still processing myself. I hoped that something would change. That there would be another way.
But sometimes you have to be honest with yourself.
If nothing unforeseen happens, 2026 will be the last year of Ultralooner.
Writing these words hurts. I’m leaving them there anyway because you deserve to hear the truth – and because I don’t want to just disappear without a trace.
What this means for you:
Orders will, of course, continue to be processed – nothing changes there. However, I ask for your patience, as processing may currently take a little longer than usual. Every order will be handled with the same care you know from me – I promise you that.
There will be no more major restocks. A delivery arrived recently – unfortunately, I haven’t managed to list everything yet, but I’m working on it. This will be the last restock for Ultralooner. What you find there is what remains.
What the looner community means to me
I want to take a moment to pause and really tell you what you have meant to me.
The looner community is something special. Truly. I’ve gotten to know many different communities in my life – but this one has something I haven’t found anywhere else: a mix of warmth, openness, humor, and a deep understanding for one another. You are people who don’t have to explain who they are. Who can just be.
Being part of this community has given me what I perhaps didn’t even know I needed: a sense of belonging. Connection. Joy in something that others might not understand – and that’s perfectly okay, because we understand it.
Every time someone shared a picture to show how UL loons have become a part of everyone, sent a message, or placed an order – it meant to me that this matters. That Ultralooner had a place in your life. I will never forget that.
A last spark of hope
Before I close this letter – there is still a small spark of hope that I don’t want to keep quiet about.
If someone is found who wants to take over Ultralooner – someone who loves this community as much as I do, who brings the passion and commitment that this project deserves – then I am open to a conversation. Ultralooner doesn’t have to go like the others. It could live on and grow in the right hands.
